Necessary Fantasy, the title of an article about my work by Jes Zurrell in SOCO magazine April 2012 issue.

Necessary Fantasy by Jes Zurrell has just come out in SOCO Magazine.
It is quite interesting.

Last page of article in SOCO MAgazine. It is easier to read by going to the link listed below. http://www.socomagazine.info/

I was delighted to read this article today. There are several pieces of my work as well as many new gicleés at Ropewalk Gallery in Mattapoisett, MA on County Road (Route 6). I will also have several pieces in a group show at Imperial Gallery in Providence, RI starting April 19th, 2012.

Newport Art Museum 100th anniversary Member’s Exhibition

I have a piece in the 100th Anniversary Members Exhibition at the Newport Art Museum

This photo is from the Newport Art Museum’s Facebook page……I have a piece in this exhibit.

I had to laugh when I saw where they placed my painting. I have been called a visionary artist but I jokingly call myself an outsider artist, not because I am an outsider artist but because my work so often does not find a place in the shows. I wasn’t with the animals, I wasn’t with the fish, I was outside the galleries in the foyer.

I have been working on several new paintings but haven’t had time to properly photograph them. I will post them soon.

Although I do need a new camera desperately and hope to get one in the next few months.

I love working in my studio. Yesterday each time I looked up I saw the wind wildly making waves on the Sakonnet but the sun was shining so nicely.
