Dervish SOLD
Mixed Media 6″ x 6″
The dancers are spinning around. It is a tribal ritual.
Day 28 of Leslie Saeta’s 30 in 30. Soon my abstracts will need to take a back seat to some more complex paintings I am working on.
I would love to get your feedback on my foray into the abstract.
Susan I don;t know how you did it, but this looks 3D to me. I thought it was a vase 🙂 I see the dancers! Absolutely love the colors and forms!
Great depth and texture. I really like your abstracts!
I’m interested in this new ‘urge’ (no negative connotation intended) to experiment with abstract art. Recently it’s come to me that ‘abstract’ could be about energies. The energies that come together to create form, that are in the form. If I look at your abstracts like this, I can see a connection with your lovely beasties. 🙂
P S Just sold an artwork. I’m riding high!
Wow, it’s like flying above the planet!
So rich images, great jobs Susan!
I love the movement in this but especially the color – you just keep getting better and better at this abstraction.
I read a book, a good 30 years ago called “Mrs. Pollifax and the Whirling Dervish” – up to that point I was not even aware of what a dervish was. I always enjoyed the Mrs. Pollifax mysteries – good escape reading.
This certainly personifies a “dervish!”
This adventure into the abstract is inspiring, daring, exciting!
Wonderful palette, concept, and title, Susan!
